The Grassy Knoll – QUT Caboolture 2011

Smile Hoops facilitators popped up at Caboolture’s Grassy Knoll festival in 2011 and again in 2013. Everything’s more fun with hoops :)

It might have chased us indoors, but rain didn’t dampen the fun at Mackay’s New Year’s Eve celebrations. Gotta love a hoopin’ daddy :)

In 2011 Smile Hoops facilitators ran a hula hooping group for young women at Kippa-Ring Primary School. We worked with ten young women once a week over two terms to develop their hooping skills and confidence. One of the unanticipated outcomes of the project was that the young women became accidental hooping ambassadors within the school and by the end of the program almost one quarter of the students were hooping regularly.
